Wellness and Active Aging

Fit After Fifty is excited to exhibit at the tenth annual  International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) Conference in New Orleans this Thursday and Friday (More details on the location below).

“Advance your wellness and active aging journey”…

a theme of the conference.  Perhaps you feel the term wellness and active aging is overused, misused, etc. We support the understanding of ‘wellness and active aging’ to be a ‘a way of living well and aging in an active and most healthy way’.  We DON’T feel it is representative of strict diets or workout regimes or anything else that doesn’t facilitate a sustainable lifestyle.  In our name ‘Fit After Fifty’–part of the meaning is intended as identifying active, healthy habits that FIT into your life…so essentially it becomes your wellness lifestyle.  The key here is being consistent and realistic…might be more difficult in the beginning.  But keep in mind, it’s ongoing…it’s a journey.  A core focus of ours, is to showcase many different journeys, to instill confidence that, yes, you can do it too. Of course it doesn’t matter whether you are 20 or 60 years old, exercising is always good for your health. However, as one starts getting older, being active is one of the greatest things that will prevent many harmful diseases. Not only harmful diseases will stay away but you will have great confidence as well. Remember to be happy, be strong and always have faith, you will live as long as possible.

If you’re attending on behalf of your organization to help advance your constituents’ wellness and active aging journeys, stop by our Booth #944 and meet Justen who can share more about how Fit After Fifty can play a role.

Conference Info: November 29–December 1, 2012 Ernest N. Morial Convention Center New Orleans, Louisiana
