Fat vs Thin - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

A picture is worth 1000 words…

Carrying extra weight is hard on a body, as can be seen in the scans shown below of a 250 lb. woman next to that of a 120 lb. woman. Damages caused by obesity are clearly evident, affecting health, longevity and overall well-being.

Notice the size of the intestines, stomach, heart and the fat pockets near the brain of the heavier woman. See how her knee joints rub together, the bowing of her legs and ankles from weight strain and the fat forcing the upper thighs further apart. Heavy people are prone to arthritis in their hips, knees and ankles, and even without arthritis often experience debilitating pain when walking. Now we can clearly see why.

Fortunately, we are all able to avoid being the image on the left. And, if you find you’re relating with that image, there’s good news for you. You can change it! You are capable. You just have to make the decision to do it.

Be inspired by how others have lost weight and improved their lives, like Z or Faith Ireland in the Fit After Fifty stories.¬†Perhaps something will resonate with you, and you’ll see how you too can make a change. You can. You just have to start believing and take the first step…and then another…
